I love making pictures exploring the relationship between seeing, perception, memory, feelings and thoughts. When someone looks at one of them, my hope is that it resonates with that person, in turn evoking their own feelings, thoughts and experience. There was a time when I was very involved in cross-processing film, using out of date film and various other techniques, adamantly without digital alterations. Although I still appreciate that, now I'm invested in using any digital tools that help me convey the picture the way I want to see, experience and share it.
Photography has been a part of my life since I was an exchange student in high school. In addition to being a freelance photographer for clients like Sony BMG and Glamour, I was a photo editor at The New York Times for ten years before crossing over into digital video and digital editing. And that morphed into creating a spiritual iPhone / Touch / iPad app called 'Be Free Now.' (All the images in the app are my photographs.) Getty Images represents my stock photography and digital footage.
Thank you for taking the time to look at my work. I hope you enjoy what you see. And if you choose to buy prints or cards, I also very much appreciate that.
